Yahoo!, Amazon, AOL, at Web 2.0 Expo
San Francisco, California - (Website Hosting Directory) - April 24, 2007 - O’Reilly Media and CMP Technology, co-hosts of the Web 2.0 Expo scheduled through April 18 at Moscone West in San Francisco, California, have reportedly received over 10,000 attendee registrations, doubling the number originally expected.
The Web 2.0 Expo expands on the core themes of the Conference and reach out to a much wider audience, allowing mainstream businesses and new arrivals to the Web 2.0 world to take advantage of this new generation of services and opportunities. The event features three major components: a five-track educational conference, including both traditional seminar formats and elements of peer-to-peer learning; a major tradeshow showcasing the sellers of tools, technologies, services and infrastructure; and networking and other events targeted at Internet entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and business development executives.
Tim O’Reilly, Founder and CEO of O’Reilly Media remarked, ”Web 2.0 is hitting its stride. When O’Reilly joined forces with CMP and John Battelle to launch the inaugural Web 2.0 Conference in 2004, we placed a bet on the future. We believed we were at the beginning of a seminal transformation that would impact business at its core. Given the strong response to Web 2.0 Expo, I’d say we bet wisely. But we’ve just begun to build out the web’s full potential. We’re seeing the convergence of two huge industries, software and media, with tremendous innovation in both technology and business models. What’s more, this is a global phenomenon. I’m looking forward to working with John and the CMP team on more events that will help entrepreneurs, existing companies, and their customers keep up with the explosion of new possibilities brought about by the new web platform.”
Jennifer Pahlka, Co-chair of Web 2.0 Expo added, ”The concepts and technologies associated with Web 2.0 represent enormous opportunities for startups, enterprises, and individuals alike. The registration numbers we are seeing for Web 2.0 Expo are very rare for a launch event, and are indicative of a huge demand for education in the technical, design and business aspects of the new web.”
Web 2.0 Expo is designed to be the major annual gathering of technical, design, marketing, and business professionals who are building the next generation web. This year’s attendee profile includes both technical and business professionals from developers and designers to C-level executives. Attendees come from across the United States as well as 59 different countries around the world. Web 2.0 Expo has received overwhelming support from many of the industry leaders driving the future of the web.
Web 2.0 Expo features the most innovative and successful Internet industry figures and companies. The industry pioneers provide attendees with examples of business models, development paradigms, and design strategies to enable mainstream businesses and new arrivals to the Web 2.0 world to take advantage of this new generation of services and opportunities. Conference tracks will include: * Web 2.0 Fundamentals * Design and User Experience * Marketing and Community * Strategy Business Models * Web 2.0 Services and Platforms
