BlueHost, HostMonster Join Forces

Orem, Utah - (The Hosting News) - January 8, 2008 - Shared website hosting and domain registration services firms, BlueHost Inc. and HostMonster Inc., have collaborated web hosting platforms, reportedly surpassing 700,000 domains, representing a 33 percent increase in size since September of 2007.

The companies have reported a growth resulting in 175,000 new domains hosted during the last quarter. Matt Heaton CEO and Founder of BlueHost and HostMonster noted, ”Its easy for a small company to say they have grown by 25 percent, 50 percent or even 100 percent in a quarter when they are talking about a few thousand customers. What really starts turning heads is when you can say, we just grew by 175,000 domains last quarter and the first 525,000 took us 4 years. Now that is real growth.”

During the past few months, BlueHost and Hostmonster have grown their product offerings via partnerships with leading companies. Some of the new services include spam protection, coupons for free PPC advertising credits, powerful shopping carts and merchant account services. BlueHost and HostMonster have also made great strides to meet the growing needs of their customer base while continuing to provide an enormous value for their clients. Read more of this news »

Google Sitelinks Double

Shortcuts to useful pages called “Sitelinks” in Google search results have been so popular that they have now been expanded. Users get twice the links. Google recently added Sitelinks control to their Google Webmaster Tools.

Google software engineer, Jeremy Silber began with this post on the official Google blog:

During your searches you’ve most likely noticed Sitelinks, the set of links below some search results that lets you jump directly to useful pages deeper in the site. They’ve been so popular that we’ve decided to give you more: our algorithms have been working overtime and we’ve recently started showing up to eight Sitelinks per site instead of just four. These extra links let you quickly access even more areas of the top site, and all eight sitelinks together give a good overview of a site’s content.

BlueHost and HostMonster, headquartered in Orem, Utah, owned and operated by the same management, have reported an upsurge in growth, resulting in an increase of their user base by over 75,000 domains during the past 45 days.

Matt Heaton, CEO and Founder of BlueHost and HostMonster remarked, ”We are proud to announce our recent growth numbers. Both BlueHost and HostMonster are well known in the hosting industry as leaders because of our incredible prices, feature sets and award winning support staff. I am positive that our growth rate will continue to be an embarrassment to our competition over the coming months.”

BlueHost and HostMonster are located in the same Orem, Utah headquarters location. While physical servers and dedicated personnel are in place for both companies, the management team and most of the support staff work on both platforms.

Mr. Heaton continued, ”In the next few months, we expect to grow by more than 125,000 domains. What we have done over the past year is diversify our offerings through two separate entities. They compete in the same marketplace yet reach different audiences with varying price and hosting packages. This strategy has led to growth multipliers far above any other shared hosting provider we compete with.” Read more of this news »
