First Item ever Sold on eBay

Ask Yahoo reports that the first item ever sold on eBay was a laser pointer. In 1995 Pierre Omidyar founded eBay, the now popular online auction site. Though Pierre is now very wealthy, he began AuctionWeb (as then known) as a simple “side hobby.” In late ‘95, Pierre made history when he sold eBay’s first item — the broken laser pointer he had originally purchased as a cat toy.
